For someone who never painted, artist Ceel Mogami de Haas took on quite a challenge when he started a three-by-two-and-a-half-meter painted relief of a landscape during his EKWC residency. de Haas grew up in France and studied English and American literature before deciding on the arts. He now works and lives intermittently in the Netherlands and in Switzerland, where he co-founded artist-run space One Gee in Fog that is (not entirely unsurprising) committed to exploring the entanglements of art and literature.
