Carl Boutard

Carl Boutard (SE) observes and reflects on the relationship between human beings, nature and culture. Boutard is fascinated by the detail nature can create in small things. By copying these small objects into large scale hand-build pieces he forces himself, and the viewer, to take a closer look. Boutard hand-copied a branch of 8 centimeters, which he had found more than 10 years ago, into a sculpture of about 250 cm. From this sculpture he created multiple silicon press-molds with a shell from plaster which will also be used to cast the same sculpture in bronze.
