Maria Brisa Fumero Gonzalez

Brisa Fumero González (ES) is a composer and designed objects that create or amplify sound. Fumero worked in a dialogue between esthetic and formal choices. Choices for a certain type of glaze or surface of an object influenced the sound, and a choice for a certain type of sound influenced the esthetics of the object. Fumero created tiles, in which she could experiment in a playful manner in texture and worked on a sound installation. For the sound installation Fumero hand-built pieces inspired by shells, that were then digitalized by 3d scanning. From these scans, negative molds were milled in styrofoam to use as press in molds, and in one piece the positive mold was 3d printed. These molds were the base from which Fumero could continue to alter the pieces by hand.
