Mirte van Laarhoven (NL) researches how to shape dynamic nature through landart and landscape architecture. Van Laarhoven focuses on self-generating, sustainable, and biodiverse environments, trying to increase biodiversity and perception by means of relatively minor interventions in large-scale landscape systems. Van Laarhoven created a Family of Habitat Elements; functional sculptures to 'live' in or on. A series of appetizing objects that create living space for biodiversity and humans. Van Laarhoven hand-built the shapes and then created press in molds from plaster and wood. For the glazing, she chose sinter engobes.
