Ranti Bam (UK/NG) was ready to challenge herself and see how far she could take her praxis of fusing painting, and collage techniques into sculpture by scaling up. This led to a new and liberating body of work. Hugging the still wet, hand-built totems Bam uses her body to engage her identity by literally and metaphorically embracing the multiplicities she encompasses and manifesting them into form. Rooted in nature and spirituality, the works contribute to the broader conversation about portraiture in the medium of clay.
