Stefanie Smith

Stefanie Smith (CA) is interested in themes of identity, and specifically how the stories we tell influence the perception of who we are. And, if processing those stories changes that perception. Smith reviewed the stories she was telling about herself and explored how to represent a memory purely based on an emotional experience. Technically the creation of the skeleton was challenging because of its size and that it had to be modular. It was built upside down, on a digitally created Styrofoam mold of the internal shape of the boat, with extruded pigment colored clay-beams through custom made extruder templates from our Fablab.
