Nico Thöne to Leave EKWC for New Role as Director of Make Eindhoven
At the end of this year, Nico Thöne will leave the European Ceramic Workcentre (EKWC) to take up her new role as Director of Make Eindhoven on January 1.
Since joining EKWC on January 1, 2018, Nico has played a crucial role as Programme Manager. Over the past seven years, she has been a central point of contact and a sympathetic ear for countless artists and makers. Her dedication, vision, and professionalism have greatly contributed to the quality of our residency programme.
Thanks to her efforts, work has begun on unlocking the EKWC archive, making the centre’s rich history more accessible. Furthermore, under her leadership, more educational and public activities have been organised, fostering broader public engagement with the centre.
While we will deeply miss Nico at EKWC, we are especially proud that she will bring her talents and experience to Make. Specialised artist workspaces like Make and EKWC are
rare and unique, and collaboration between these spaces is essential to ensure a sustainable infrastructure for artists, designers, and craftsmen.
Nico, on behalf of all colleagues and alumni, thank you for everything you have contributed to EKWC. We wish you every success in Eindhoven!
