EKWC Classic

The basic costs of an EKWC Classic residency are the actual costs EKWC incurs for each resident. The basic costs for a thirteen-week EKWC Classic residency include accommodation and workspace, use of all EKWC facilities, and technical support. Thanks to grants from the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science and the Province of North Brabant, EKWC is able to provide you with a stipend to cover 75% of the basic costs. This does not include variable costs. We also require a deposit of €100.00 for the use of the key. The exact amounts are given in the cost overview below. All amounts include 21% VAT.

On average, the variable costs for a thirteen-week residency amount to €2,420.00, and cover things like materials, 3D printing and milling, heating costs, and services such as transport. We ask each resident to pay a deposit towards this amount. At the end of the residency, we calculate the actual costs, which depend on the scale and nature of the work produced.

If the variable costs exceed the deposit of €2,420.00, the resident will receive an additional invoice from EKWC for the remaining amount at the end of the residency. If the variable costs are lower than the deposit, EKWC will refund the remaining amount to the resident. The security deposit is also included in this amount.

Funding

€9,228.24 is a substantial sum, as EKWC is well aware. We are committed to making a residency at EKWC as accessible as possible, partly by working closely with various funds and organisations at home and abroad that support residency programmes. See funds >

In addition to the funds and organisations with which we collaborate directly, residents can also apply for funding to national, regional and local funds in their country of origin or residence. For many funds both at home and abroad, selection for an EKWC residency may help towards getting a grant.

EKWC CoLab

The costs for an EKWC [Co]Lab residency are also divided into basic costs and variable costs. Please note that, unlike the EKWC Classic, there is no EWKC stipend for EKWC [Co]Lab projects.

The basic costs are calculated per week, based on actual costs. These take into account things such as intensive guidance and research by EKWC advisers. The variable costs depend on the scale and nature of the work being produced. An advance payment is calculated based on the project. Final costs are calculated retrospectively and offset against the advance payment.
