EKWC [Co]Lab is intended for multidisciplinary projects around a specific research question and for projects with a client. For example for work in public space, or a collaboration with one or more clients, such as a company, university, museum, collector or government institution.
What we expect from applicants is a project plan with a strong concept, and a realistic planning and budget. This involves projects that cannot be realized without the facilities or advice of EKWC’s experts.
Please keep in mind that EKWC is not a production facility and that EKWC [Co]Lab is intended for unique projects, not serial production.
admission
An academic education and at least two years of independent, professional work experience are required for admission to the EKWC. During EKWC [Co]Lab, the focus is on the realization of a specific project. Unlike the EKWC Classic, this requires experience with ceramics.
After discussing and submitting the project application, a custom quote will be provided. EKWC [Co]Lab is not supported by a stipend.
Please note that residents are responsible for arranging their own visa applications. Should the period for your visa conflict with the residency period please contact us. We will be happy to think with you.
selection procedure
At EKWC [Co]Lab, each residency is tailored to the specific project. The length of a residency depends on the size and complexity of the project. We therefore recommend contacting us before submitting an application so that we can estimate together how much time is needed.
There are only a limited number of spots available in our schedule. Applications can be submitted throughout the year and will be reviewed in order of receipt as soon as they are complete.
When evaluating, we consider the quality and feasibility of the project, as well as its urgency – both social relevance and personal need for resident’s development.
The EKWC attaches great importance to equal opportunity and strives to create an open, inclusive and equal environment where everyone has the opportunity to flourish. We encourage people of all ages, social and ethnic backgrounds, cultures and with all physical characteristics to apply.
The EKWC is accessible to people with disabilities and all facilities are wheelchair accessible. Should you need additional guidance or support, please do not hesitate to contact us and we will discuss options.
After a positive assessment, an offer will be made based on:
1. The completed application form.
2. A project plan (maximum 1 A4 or a video).
3. A budget plan (maximum 1 A4).
