The EKWC and Acción Cultural Española invite Spanish artists, designers, and architects who never worked with ceramics before to apply for a ceramic challenge. In this round, we also open up for sound artists, composers, and other music pioneers. Experienced artists from all fields who did work with ceramics and porcelain are welcome to apply as well. What we need is an imaginative workplan, an experimental attitude, or a strong concept; something you would like to achieve in twelve weeks’ time which would not be possible without the facilities or advice of the experts of the EKWC.

You are welcome to apply for a twelve-week residency through our website. The residency will take place from Thursday 29 September 2022 until Wednesday 21 December 2022.

The selected Spanish resident will be provided with return flights from their place of residence in Spain, accommodation, technical advice, and access to the facilities of the EKWC. You will also have access to technical equipment in line with your request and with firing and material costs of up to 1,000 euros, in accordance with Ekwc’s prices submitted to its partners.  At the end of the stay, you will receive 2,500 euros from ACE (after the corresponding invoice) to cover living and production expenses incurred during the stay.

The deadline for applications is 22nd April 2022. There is one residency available made possible by Acción Cultural Española. On the 9^th of May, the selected artist will be announced on the website of the EKWC and the ACE.
