Antye Guenther (DE/NL) is intrigued by how we humans are so certain about how and what we think and our ascribed rationality. She used digital data from an MRI scan of her own brain and reconstructed the surface through scientific software processes from which a plaster casting mold was made. Guenther then explored the many possibilities of alterations that could be made to each casted brain. With the same data, a large Styrofoam press-in-mold was CNC milled, creating large reproductions of Guenther’s own brain that also function as stools
0 Guenther searched for a glaze not just as a surface covering, not per se following the shape of what it’s supposed too, but as an entity on its own.
